How We Stepped On Weaker Pilgrims To Survive - Survivor

A survivor of the stampede in Mina, Saudi Arabia, has narrated how he survived the incident. Dahiru Shittu, one of the over 60,000 Nigerians attending this year’s pilgrimage, was among the thousands of people gathered in Mina for the devil stoning rite, part of the hajj activities, when the stampede occurred.

‘”We were trapped in between narrow lane with iron wall of tents on both sides of the road,”

“There was no way out, so people started scaling fences into tents of Algeria and other Arab countries,” Shittu narrated to Premium Times.

Mr. Shittu, from Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, added, “My friend and I, who were completely exhausted from the previous long distance trekking from Arafat to Muztalifa where we spent the night and set out that morning to Jamra, had no option than to step on other weaker pilgrims to survive.

“You will see mother and parents leaving their children and aged to survive. I was however, helped by an Arab man to scale the fence into a tent.

“Many male and female pilgrims dead or alive were seen unclad. We that survived, had to scavenge for Ihram (white cloth) of corpses to cover our unclothedness. Those of us who were alive were gasping for survival in an exhausted struggle, some of whom were later offered ice block by some volunteers.”

“An Ethiopian pilgrim abandoned his mother who became a ‘ladder’ for those who scaled through fences to survive. Many others too, were crushed to death in such a manner.”

The pilgrim lamented the security situation during the rite saying there was not enough “security around or any rescue team.”

There have been reports that the closure of two essential gate, reportedly at the instance of the Saudi Royal family who were receiving some visitors, was a major cause of the stampede, a fact Mr. Shittu elaborates.

If the gates of those tents from both sides of the road had opened, the death toll would have been very minimal,” he said. “But the Arabs closed the gates and continued to hit the hands of any pilgrim with a metal as they attempted to scale their fences to get free air.”

The survivor, who suffered an injury on his leg, lamented the inadequate medical attention received by some survivors saying, “I did not receive any medical attention from either the Saudi, NAHCON (Nigerian officials) or Kaduna authority despite my complaints to them.”

He said he saw corpses of many Nigerians from Lagos and Sokoto whom he identified from their uniform.

“There was a woman who was carrying a baby and I am not sure if she will survive because there were so many bodies piled on top of her and the baby.”
No official figure has been announced by Nigerian authorities of the number of casualties from the country. However, Sokoto State has confirmed that at least nine of its pilgrims were killed in the stampede while Taraba has confirmed three. Saudi officials said at least 769 people were killed in the stampede while over 900 people were injured.

Lamenting his present state, Mr. Shittu said he “was completely traumatized; in fact if there is anything beyond being traumatized, that was how I felt because I thought it was the end of the world.

“But that did not discourage me from wanting to come back for Hajj again because this is part of the test of faith.”

Hey Girls! Is This Wedding Gown Or What?

A bride has the right to wear whatever she wants as long as her groom, family and the church is okay with it right? But this definitely looks inappropriate.
The above pictures have been making rounds on social media all through the weekend with some supporting the bride's choice of dressing for her big day while others are saying what she wore was wrong.

We thought to share it here, so you can have your say. And some are even saying that this is 2015 so she can still rock a bikini if she pleases.

Doctor Sells One Week-old Baby to Couple for N300,000 In Lagos

A trado-medical doctor identified as Olawale Onalaja, has been nabbed by the Police in Lagos for allegedly selling a week-old baby to a couple for N300,000 in the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos.

The couple, Dele and Oluwakemi Ayangbile, who paid the sum to the native doctor before taking the baby to their apartment in the Mile 12 area, have also been arrested by the police,

The mother of the baby, a 29-year-old Idiat Babatunde, is a student of a polytechnic in Osun State, and was preparing for her convocation when she was delivered of the baby on Saturday, September 5.

After the delivery, Idiat, who had a quarrel with her husband, Akinola Babatunde, had taken the baby to Onalaja, a family friend, on September 13, and requested that he kept the child for her, while she travelled to school. Onalaja however invited the Ayangbiles and sold the baby to them for N300,000.

When Idiat returned from school, Onalaja lied that the baby was in custody of a government-owned orphanage where he would be properly taken care of.

The buyers, the Ayangbiles, took the baby to their rented apartment, but their suspicious landlord was said to have reported the matter at the Ketu Police Division after the baby had been with the couple for three days. The police thereafter arrested the Ayangbiles, and also picked up Onalaja.

The wife, Oluwakemi, said she had been barren since 2009 when she got married, adding that Onalaja, who was a family friend, had earlier advised her to adopt a child.

"I have known the traditional doctor since 2013. I got married in 2009 and I used to have miscarriages. It was while looking for treatment that I met him. In 2014, he advised that I should adopt a baby, but I did not agree.

"Two Mondays ago, he called me on the telephone and said I should meet him. He told me that he had a baby at hand to give us, adding that he would obtain all the necessary papers. I then discussed it with my husband and he said we should go for the baby since Onalaja was going to get the papers. He did not tell us that the baby’s mother was not aware of the transaction.

"I paid him N300,000, and brought the baby home. But after three days, the police came to arrest my husband and I. We have been barren for six years, and we need a child. We mean no harm to the baby," she narated.

Onalaja, however, said he collected only N156,000 from the couple, which was the sum to process papers from the government ministry in Alausa.

"The agreement between the mother of the baby and I was that I would take the baby to an orphanage. The mother agreed to collect the baby back after three months in government’s custody.

"It is true that I collected N156,000 from Kemi and gave the baby to her. I wanted to take the baby to Alausa to register in an orphanage. But I was called on the telephone that the couple was arrested by the police. That was how I was also arrested. I do not sell babies. The mother is known to me."

The mother of the baby, Idiat, said she had a quarrel with her husband, who was away in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and she gave the baby to Onalaja, so she could concentrate on her academics.
"I had a quarrel with my husband, and so he was not at home when the baby was born. I gave the baby to Onalaja a week after while I went to school. It was when I returned that I realised that my baby had been sold. But I am happy to be reunited with him.”

The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the baby had been reunited with the parents, while the suspects would be charged to court.
"The couple, who were the beneficiaries of the baby, was arrested alongside the self-styled doctor. The police have recovered the baby and identified the parents. Although the baby has been returned to the mother, he is still under the watch of the Family Support Unit of the command. Investigation is almost concluded, and the suspects will appear in court soon."

Read What Prostitutes Did to Top Politician In Delta

An undisclosed top politician in Delta state was disgraced and beaten up by four prostitutes after he allegedly underpaid them for their services.

According to reports, the politician was said to have to have employed the services of the four girls for two nights alongside his friend/ business partner who came to town from Abuja.

The politician, who had agreed on a certain amount of money, was reported to have approached the girls at a popular hotel and struck a deal with them to spend two nights with him and a friend.

After the girls had fulfilled their part of the bargain, he decided to outsmart them. That night, after his friend had flown back to Abuja, he gave the girls half of the money they had bargained for and told them he wanted to go to the bank and get the balance but he never came back.

After waiting endlessly for him in the hotel room, the girls caught him and when they asked him for their balance, he pretended not to have had anything to do with them.

The girls got angry and insulted him at the top of their voices, tore his shirt, gave him series of slaps and kicks until he was rescued by the hotel bouncers.

Boko Haram Plans Attacks In Lagos & Seaports - NSA

A security alert on the likelihood of Boko Haram attack on Lagos seaports, has been issued by the office of the National Security Adviser, which was as a result of the concern expressed by the United States Embassy on the security situation at the nation’s seaports.

Assistant Comptroller General of Customs in charge of Enforcement and Intelligence, Dan Ugo, signed the security alert on behalf of the Comptroller General, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd).

The Nigeria Customs Service, has already begun the restriction of persons into its various commands and formations in Lagos following the security alert, as the development has brought about an increase in the level of security checks at all access points into the ports.

Speaking on the development, Vice Chairman of the Port Facility Security Officers Forum, Dr. Zeb Ikokide, said that articulated vehicles should not be accompanied by their motor boys. He also warned Customs to stop delaying cargoes at the gates, adding that all documentations regarding cargo clearance must be concluded before the goods get to the exit gate.

Speaking in a similar vein, President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, Alhaji Olayiwola Shittu, called on Nigerians to be security conscious and cooperate with security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and properties at the ports.

PDP Plots For New Senate President

As the Senate President Bukola Saraki appeared at the Code of Conduct Tribunal few days ago over alleged false declaration of assets, some of his supporters and senators from the Peoples Democratic Party are planning to fight back.

A shocking report revealed that they are reportedly working on a plot which will lead to the election of a new Senate president from the opposition party, should Saraki be imprisoned. It was learnt that the security agencies already know about the plot.

There were indications yesterday that senators loyal to Saraki may have 'laid an ambush' for President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list, which is being awaited at the Senate any moment from now.

It was revealed that they may discard all Buhari’s appointments made so far in protest against Saraki’s trial, a source said.

An annonymous source said last night: "Some loyalists of Saraki and PDP senators have been meeting on the options available and how to tackle President Muhammadu Buhari.
"At the meeting in Abuja, they resolved to stand by Saraki but if he is convicted, they will make sure that the next president of the Senate is from the PDP. They are really aggrieved and have vowed to stop the candidate of the Unity Forum, Sen. Ahmed Lawan, from emerging as Saraki’s successor.
"From the way PDP and its senators are rallying around Saraki, no one needs a soothsayer to know that a bigger conspiracy is in the offing. The PDP has not come to terms with the fact that it lost the last general elections."

They know that the President will not present imposed candidates as ministerial nominees and they are out for a pound of flesh as from September 29 because the Code of Conduct Bureau( CCB) dragged the President of the Senate to the Code of Conduct Tribunal(CCT)."

However, the security agencies have reportedly crashed the plan. A government source said:

"The whole plot is aimed at frustrating the president and cause a political crisis in the country. They have this feeling that they must pull down the house due to the arraignment of Saraki by CCT. In spite of denial, they are pointing accusing fingers at the presidency for Saraki’s travails."

Buhari's New Policy May Force CBN Gov, Emefiele, To Resign

New reports are suggesting that the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele may soon resign from his position following his discomfort with a latest policy as ordered by President Buhari.

A source told Daily Post on Wednesday that the boss of the apex bank was getting tired of the approach of President Muhammadu Buhari to fiscal and monetary issues.

“There are possibilities of Emefiele leaving the post because of the state of the economy. But the one that unsettles him the most is an order by the president to change the colour of Naira notes,” our source said.

Buhari’s directive is a reminder of his anti-corruption measures as military Head of State between 1984 and 1985.

‘Buharinomics’, as called, was stringently implemented to revive the slumbering banking industry and curb local currency hoarding.

Buhari ordered that the colour of the Naira notes be changed, forcing all holders of old notes to exchange them at banks within a limited period. Daily Post gathered that Emefiele, reluctant to implement Buhari’s instruction, almost tendered his resignation in the past few days but for the persuasion of some prominent Nigerians, including two Bank Chairmen.

The duo were at some point Managing Directors of their respective banks and are from a South-South state. It was learnt that Emefiele at a recent meeting with close friends in Abuja, the nation’s capital, hinted at his desire to hand in his resignation notice sooner than later.

At the gathering, the former Zenith Bank Managing Director, complained that the Buhari-led government was yet to have a policy direction, adding that he needed an idea of what was in store to guide him in his stewardship.

Saraki: APC Shortlists New Candidates For Replacement

The All Progressives Congress (APC) have reportedly penned down names for likely replacements for Senate President, Bukola Saraki who is currently standing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) over charges of false declaration of assets leveled against him.

According to National Mirror reports, the embattled National Assembly leader is being pressured from several quarters to resign as Senate President on moral grounds pending the conclusion of his trial which has been adjourned until October 21, 2015, while reports have emerged alleging that the APC is planning on moving to have Saraki impeached from office.

It was gathered that the APC is already considering several top ranking senators to replace Saraki in the event that he resigns or gets impeached.

According to the report, the leadership of the APC have already shortlisted former minority leader in the 7th Senate and former governor of Benue State, Senator George Akume and the wife of the national leader of the party, Senator Remi Tinubu  as well as two unnamed senators from the South-West zone.

Several sources say the APC has favoured the South West zone for Saraki’s proposed replacement as the search has been limited to the zone, keeping out the South-East and South-South as there is no APC senators from these zones.

The Muslim Eid al-Adha prayers in Ilorin, capital of Kwara state was this morning disrupted as the country’s embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki was pelted with stones and pure water sachets as he arrived in his convoy.

The chaos caused by the stoning of the senate president who is facing a 13-count charge on corruption and false asset declaration, caused the prayers to be disrupted with several hundreds of faithfuls unable to say the prayers.

The Senate president was reportedly covered up and whisked out of the grounds to save him from the anger of the mob who were ready to pounce on him. This was the first Eid Saraki was attending as senate president.

Bukola Saraki's Trial Adjourned to October 21

The Code of Conduct Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Tuesday adjourned the false declaration of assets case involving the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to October 21.

The Senate President is facing a 13-count charge bordering on alleged false declaration of assets. Saraki, who appeared at the tribunal on Tuesday, pleaded not guilty to all the charges when they were read out to him.

Counsel to both parties argued back and forth in a bid to swing the case in their favour. Saraki’s lead counsel, Joseph Daudu (SAN), had earlier tried to stop the Senate President from taking his pleas in the dock.

After Saraki pleaded not guilty to the charges, the tribunal granted him bail on self-recognition. The prosecution did not oppose the tribunal’s decision to release Saraki on bail.

The matter was later adjourned to October 21 by the presiding judge.

President Buhari Approves N70m for Independence Celebrations

Disturbed by the dwindling revenues of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari approved only N70million for this year's Independence celebrations.
While addressing journalists on Tuesday, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved only N70million for this year's Independence celebrations.

According to the SGF, Buhari reluctantly approved the N70m after complaining that he would have preferred the money is diverted for the payment of workers salaries, adding that the president had argued that the money was too much to be spent on frivolities such as celebrations when Nigerians are grappling to survive the present day economic stress.

Lawal said:"This year’s celebration is, indeed low key because the present administration appreciates the economic hardship that Nigerians and the nation is confronted with today and he almost slashed it downward from N70m.

"To address the situation, government has adopted a general policy to be very prudent in the management of our financial resources, so this year’s celebration is, therefore, in consonance with the cost-saving policy direction of this administration.

"Four events have been approved by the president to manage the entire celebration process. The events are: Jumat prayers, international thanksgiving service, ceremonial change of guards and a children’s party.

"Apart from these four events the president will also address the nation on Oct 1. To ensure a successful commemoration, four sub-committees have been constituted to handle the preparations for each of the four events."

Kardashian Sisters, Kendall & Kylie, Get Nipple Piercings

As speculated, Kendall Jenner has officially confirmed that indeed her nipple is pierced! But the reason behind it may not be what you think…
Thanks to a fairly thin piece of white fabric that required Kendall Jenner to ditch the bra, the world has got a pretty clear view of what looked like body jewelry on the 19-year-old's breast.

When asked about the shocking accessory, Kendall simply explained that she was going through a rebellious phase.

The brunette beauty told Page Six on Friday while celebrating the launch of her new Estée Lauder fragrance "Modern Muse Le Rouge" at Macy's in New York City, "It is true. I was going through a period in my life, having a rough time, being a rebel and was like ‘Let's just do it."

However, just because she was feeling a little gutsy doesn't mean she wasn't afraid of what she was getting herself into. "[I was] so terrified, I'm laying on the bed like ‘Why am I doing this. Honestly, it hurt, but wasn't as bad as everyone made it seem and maybe because everyone hyped it up and I thought it would be really, really bad. Then it wasn't as bad as I expected."

Kendall's rebellious move is yet another connection to her younger sister Kylie Jenner, who once posted a photo that suggested she decided to get her nipples pierced too, posing with her hands up and circling her breasts on the Snapchat app while writing, "new jewelry in other secret areas."

Man Charges Wife To Court Over Swollen Manhood After Sex

A furious aged man has sued his younger wife to court over damages to his genital incurred as a result of high demands for sex on her path.
62-year-old Zimbabwean man, Butholezwe Nyoni, who is married to a relatively young wife, Martha Nyoni, 36, narrated tearfully in court how his wife left him in stitches because she’s always pinching and squeezing his “balls” whenever she’s horny and needs sex from him.

“Your worship this woman troubles me a lot, demanding sex. I dread going home because she always wants more than enough,” Nyoni said.

Nyoni also said that when he turns her down, she tries to excite him in a kinky manner.

“When I refuse she squeezes and pinches my balls. As a result I have developed an erectile problem. I can’t satisfy her because my balls are always swollen.

“I am fed up with her and I request that you grant me a protection order so that she stays away from me. I have endured enough abuse,”  he added.

In her defense, Martha said Nyoni was lying to cover up an affair.

“He is lying your worship. He developed that problem long back. The problem is that he co-habits with another woman whom he has a child with, that’s what we always argue about,” she said.

The magistrate, Stephen Ndlovu, granted the pair an interim order and instructed the two to go for counseling and come back on 30 September.

Ministerial: Ex CBN Gov, Soludo, Fayemi Visit Aso Rock

Charles Soludo and Kayode Fayemi, were yesterday sighted at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, filling visitors forms on their way to the office of Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Soludo was spotted around 5:30p.m. dressed in a cream-coloured Kaftan and signing the visitors book yesterday in the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja where he met with the Chief of Staff to the President, Alhaji Abba Kyari.

His visit was immediately followed by former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, about 30 minutes later.

The duo's visit came at a time when expectations were high as the president is putting finishing touches to the list of ministerial nominees he is expected to transmit to the National Assembly any moment from now and afterwards, make it public.

Soludo, who served as CBN governor under the administrations of Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Yar'Adua, had on June 7 stated in an interview with an online newspaper that he was not ready to work for Buhari’s government.

He had also taken issues up with the Jonathan administration, accusing it of financial mismanagement of the economy, particularly the leakage of N30trillion from the system.

"Nigerians and their rumours! I am glad you said they are rumours and such rumours are normal. For sure, I wish the new government success and for the sake of Nigeria, everyone must contribute to assist President Buhari succeed. I will contribute in whatever way I can.

"However, everyone can’t sit in government in order to serve: some will be there on full-time basis while others can contribute from outside. For me personally and at this point in time, I am not disposed or available for full-time public service now; perhaps in the future it could happen, but not now.

"For now, my hands are full with several other experiments I am involved with (especially abroad) in the private sector, charity, think-tanks, and the international community. I am part of a major initiative in Africa’s mining and solid minerals sector, and this takes me through several African countries, etc.

"I am having great fun exploring totally new vistas of opportunity that are central to Africa’s great leap in the 21st Century. I read that President Buhari will give priority to solid minerals. We can provide free advisory services and perhaps assist to mobilise investment in the sector or in any other areas if our advice is needed.

"In effect, there are several ways we can assist the government to succeed but not necessarily to take up full-time appointment. No, not now,"
Soludo said in the interview.

He was responding to rumours that he criticised Jonathan’s administration towards its end in the hope of getting an appointment from Buhari.

Coup: Africa Union Suspends Burkina Faso

The African Union suspended Burkina Faso and slapped sanctions on the leaders of its military coup Friday as troops tried to stop protesters from marching on the capital’s Revolution Square.

The 54-member bloc also imposed a travel ban and asset freeze on the junta's leaders, with Uganda's representative denouncing the kidnapping of Burkina's interim leaders on Wednesday as a "terrorist" act.

The latest coup was orchestrated by an elite army unit loyal to deposed president Blaise Compaore who claim that interim president Michel Kafando was excluding Compaore’s supporters from the upcoming October 11 polls.

“All measures taken by those who took power by force in Burkina Faso are null and void,” Uganda’s AU ambassador Mull Katende said.

The strong AU reaction came as Senegalese President Macky Sall, chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and Benin President Thomas Boni Yayi met with coup leader General Gilbert Diendere - Compaore’s former chief of staff — in Ouagadougou.

“We must create a dynamic of national reconciliation… to allow the country to reposition itself on its path and on its march to democracy,” Sall said Friday night.

Diendere, meanwhile, said later that while the talks were “fruitful”, nothing had yet been agreed.

“I prefer not to get ahead of the iguana in the water, because we did not decide on anything for the moment,” he said, using a local expression.

As the pair of leaders arrived, members of the elite Compaore’s Presidential Security Regiment (RSP) that spearheaded the coup fired in the air to disperse protestors who were trying to march on Revolution Square, the epicentre of a popular uprising that overthrew Compaore in October 2014.

He was forced to flee the country after trying to extend his 27-year rule over the impoverished west African nation.

How Okada Man Violently Raped 14-Year-Old Girls

Until penultimate Saturday, Esther, who hails from Benue State and currently an apprentice in her aunt's cake shop was a virgin, but she lost her virginity to a man she had never met before and in a violent way.

According to a report by Punch, the teenager, currently an apprentice at her aunt's cake shop was a virgin, until she lost it violently to the okada rider. (pictured right after he was caught and beaten).

The teenager who was visibly and emotionally in pain said she'd never forgive her rapist, identified as Sharafa Wasiu, for violating her, she also wished him death, “because of what he did to me. I feel sad anytime I remember that day.”

She said she had tried everything she could to remain a virgin until she was married but all that was for naught after being raped by Wasiu who after dropping her in front of her house, trailed her into the house and raped her in broad daylight.

She said, “That Saturday, I stopped a bike from the front of our shop to take me home. When we got home, he dropped me in front of the house, I paid him and I went in, not knowing he was still lurking around. I thought he had left, not knowing that he wheeled his motorcycle to the side of the house and stayed there, watching me. It was about 2pm.  “My aunty had told me to help her clean her shoes, so the moment I entered, I started packing the shoes outside so I could clean them. I used the kitchen entrance and I closed it when I packed the first round. “When I was in the room packing the remaining shoes, I heard the sound of the door and I asked who was there. I didn’t hear anything, so I went to check who or what was there. The next thing I saw was the okada man that dropped me a short while ago.

“Immediately, he pushed me to the floor with so much force, overpowered me, being a taller and more hefty person, he pulled my skirt and pants and raped me. I struggled with him but I didn’t succeed. Apart from the pain from the forceful entry and the terrible smell oozing out of his body, he was rubbing my body against the floor, inflicting serious injuries on my body. I kept shouting but nobody heard me because I was the only one at home.”
She explained that after she was raped the first time, she thought her nightmare was over not knowing she was in for more assault.

She said:
“When he finished, I pushed him away, pulled up my skirt and ran to the door to escape. I barely opened the door when he suddenly ran after me, pushed me and pinned me to the floor. I was gasping but he tore all my clothes, leaving me stark naked, and dragged me on the floor, trying to take me inside so he could rape me again. I can never forgive him for what he did to me. “By that time, blood was all over my body. I kept shouting but there was no one to rescue me.

As he was trying to remove his trousers, I managed to escape (naked) and I ran through one side of the house while he ran through the other side to get me. That was how one of our neighbours saw me and quickly called on others who mobilised to the place at once and caught him. They also seized his bike.”

Her aunty felt guilty for what happened to the teenager, she said

“Usually we don’t work on Saturday but that day, we went for an event. When we finished, I went somewhere and I sent her to go and give some food items to my attendants in the shop. I told her to go back home after that. And she did.

“We moved into that house about three months ago. It’s located around Onolu Road, Igbe in Ikorodu, while my shop is around Medical Road. When I heard about the incident, I rushed home and met them, but the boy, who claimed to be 23 years old, kept denying it. He was even making calls and threatening to call his guys who would deal with us. With the help of the security men on our street, we dragged him to the Igbogbo police station.
“It was at the police station that he confessed. He said it was the devil’s work and that he only made an attempt to do it but did not do anything. The shreds of Esther’s clothes are still with the police. He confessed that he parked his motorcycle beside the house and stayed inside the compound for about 10 minutes before he went inside. “They took our statement and gave us a letter to go to the General Hospital for test. She did series of tests, which confirmed that she was raped. I wish the incident didn’t happen because even the parents of this girl are not yet aware. I want them to come to Lagos before I tell them. It’s not the kind of news one could share on the phone.” Felicia pointed out that the girl had been on drugs since the incident happened and that she had been a recluse.

A police source confirmed that Wasiu had been charged to court exactly three days after and was being remanded in the Kirikiri prison on the order of the court. The source added that “the matter would come up for hearing sometime in October.”

At least four persons were killed and some injured in a gas explosion that hit a mini gas plant in the Eliozu axis of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday evening.
